Unit 6 Films

Apparently, the film industry in Hollywood has been pushed out to the second position by the booming Bollywood productions.

Bollywood films are mainly shot in Mumbai, India. The scripts are predominantly based on impossible love stories with sexual tension and a happy ending. Actors are required to play their roles as well as  singing and dancing. Finally, colour is added to all the scenes thanks to the costumes and settings. What's the final result? A film industry that has fans all across India and beyond.

One of the most awarded films at the Oscar Awards Ceremony in February 2009 was the successful "Slumdog Millionaire". It is set in Mumbai and you can watch its trailer clicking on the link below. It includes the subtitles!

Slumdog Millionaire

If you just liked it, try the whole website where you can choose the latest trailers and watch them with subtitles. You should thank Ana Fuster from EOI Cartagena who found this excellent link. Ideally, write a brief summary of the film on the chat below after watching the trailer. Which one did you choose?

Unit 6 Films

Look at the photo of the first slide of this pwp presentation. How many films can you guess? Do you know their name in English? What type of film are they?

Now you are ready to revise the exercises played in class.

Unit 5 Love and Relationships

Unit 5 Friends

Image result for sleeping on it

Quite often when people have a problem, they sleep on it. Perhaps, this is the reason why the pillow can be considered as one of our best friends. Do you usually share your worries with your friends or your pillow? What things do you share with your friends?

Watch this video about the meaning of friendship. After that, use your own words to express, maybe on the chat below, what makes a good friend. Also you can write an additional quote describing the meaning of friendship.

Fancy some listening? Then click on the link below and follow the instructions to do the listening activity.

Money and friends
